Technology Platforms
PDC Pharmacy is committed to offering the latest services and technologies to provider agencies in an effort to streamline the processes involved with all aspects of medication administration and delivery.
Since October 2017, PDC Pharmacy has been operating in a paper-free pharmacy environment by utilizing FrameworkECM (Electronic Content Management), which increases efficiencies for our staff and provider agency employees alike. Information such as medication orders, physician’s orders, faxes, packing slips, audit logs, and communication records are securely housed electronically and readily accessible remotely. These efficiencies enhance PDC Pharmacy staff’s ability to expedite the availability of critical information, allowing the staff at our partnering provider agencies to further focus on providing quality care to individuals. In addition to FrameworkECM, PDC Pharmacy offers many other technological solutions, including the ability to interface with over 60 electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) and Electronic Health Record (eHR) offerings, including Therap, ECP, ACCUflo, and QuickMAR, as well as FrameworkLink, an automated refill, messaging, and report system.
Dispensing and Packaging Technology
PDC Pharmacy has implemented the use of DOSIS Systems within our pharmacies to increase automation and efficiency in order to better serve our partner providers. These machines provide additional support to our pharmacy team to ensure that all medications are dispensed and delivered on time. We utilize DOSIS to automate the filling process of some of the most frequently dispensed blister card medications.
PDC Pharmacy utilizes Omnicell automated dispensing technology onsite at certain partner provider agencies to replace the traditional Emergency Kit for first dose and emergent needs. Omnicell technology allows for authorized and authenticated medication administrators to securely collect needed pharmaceuticals, pursuant to a physician’s order, from the Omnicell for immediate administration to a patient. The Omnicell’s inventory and par levels are determined in collaboration with the partner provider, utilizing historical dispensing reporting to ensure the most critically needed pharmaceuticals are readily available to nursing staff in qualified environments.
PDC Pharmacy’s pillow packaging solution utilizes Parata’s ATP Series packaging automation to prepare multiple medications, given at the same time of administration, within collective packaging. Pillow packages assist with medication administration adherence in certain environments, and contain all regulatory information expected to be found within the prescription label.
PDC Pharmacy has enhanced the accuracy and integrity of the automated pillow packaging technology by integrating Parata’s Inspect Rx technology which assists pharmacists with the final review of medication packaging and stores images of all pillow packs for reporting and reference.
